Safety & Sustainability
Since we spend a good amount of our time indoors, the quality of the air we breathe is critical to our overall health. Every breath we take is affected by the flooring within our offices, schools, and homes. Agencies such as the California Air Resources Board and SCS Global Services promote social responsibility and health by providing certification and auditing to ensure that all building materials we utilize meet strict indoor air quality (IAQ) standards. We'll never take shortcuts when it comes to safety and sustainability. We take strict consideration of the environmental impact of every product we manufacture. Each product, whether vinyl or engineered wood, also undergoes a thorough assessment to ensure it will not negatively impact your indoor air quality.
All engineered wood and luxury vinly flooring sold by GoHaus is certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Setting the standard for formaldehyde emissions for composite wood products and resilient floor coverings, CARB was created with the purpose of maintaining good air quality and finding solutions for air pollution. Adhering to CARB's strict standards, all GoHaus engineered wood and luxury vinyl is made with a formaldehyde free adhesive. We also take extra precautions by having our floors assessed by an independent lab test.
Lacey Act Compliant
All engineered wood flooring sold by GoHaus abides by the Lacey Act (16 U.S.C. 3371-3378) to ensure our customers receive high quality and environmentally-friendly flooring. Created in 1900, the Lacey Act is a United States law that bans the trafficking of wildlife and non-native species. In 2008, the Lacey Act was amended to also include plants and plant products, addressing the global illegal logging trade. Under the Lacey Act, all importers are required to declare the species and country of origin of any wood products in order to prevent illegitimate wood products from entering the U.S.
All flooring sold by GoHaus is FloorScore certified, meaning that each floor goes through a rigorous testing process conducted by SCS Global Services, an unbiased third-party research organization, to ensure that harmful amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are not emitted into the air. SCS Global Services provides a FloorScore certification for resilient floor coverings that meet the strictest indoor air quality (IAQ) emissions criteria as outlined by major health organizations. Floors that are FloorScore certified have undergone thorough analysis of the manufacturing process, the end product, and the on-site data review.
These comprehensive testing procedures were developed in conjunction with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) and ensure that these vinyl floors meet the uncompromising emissions criteria of the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Rating System.
